Currently head of the electrical department at LAVOIX, Etienne HABASQUE's practice focuses on patent prosecution and litigation in various areas of the electrical arts.
He has handled a large number of oral proceedings before the opposition divisions and boards of appeal of the European Patent Office (EPO). His expertise includes over 30 patent infringement cases before the French courts. Etienne HABASQUE assists his clients in strategically building their patent portfolios, conducting landscape studies of competitors' patents, preparing non-infringement, patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions; setting up invention disclosure programs, and establishing internal procedures for protecting their trade secrets.
The technologies in which he has considerable experience include electronics in the automotive field, digital and analogy circuits, IC design, semiconductor devices, optics and optical equipment, telecoms, computer networks and software. He also advises on unfair competition matters. Etienne HABASQUE also manages the IP training programs for several clients and gives frequent lectures on European and French patent systems.
