Iraq joins the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) 

On January 31, the Government of Iraq deposited its instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) with the Managing Director's of WIPO.

Irak thus becomes the 155^th member of the PCT Union. It will enter into force for Iraq on April 30, 2022.

From this date, it will be possible to obtain patent protection in Iraq via a PCT filing.
